■ Product Introduction
The capacitance-type Touch Screen which was generally materialized before was embodied with the form of the product which conducts only the touch sensing function independently from the display. Lately, along with the development of the display integrated touch product and the appearance of the single-chip of the all kinds of the functions, Touch Display Driver IC(Touch Display Driver Integration, TDDI) was developed which combines the touch sensing function and the display driving function into single chip.
As the display driving and the touch sensing function are operated at the same time with the one TDDI chip, the noise performance can be improved since the noise information can be controlled which is occurred from the display. Also, it is mounted on TFT using COG(chip-on-glass) technology such as the Standard DDI, the chip-mounted area that is required for the FPC (flexible printed circuit) is reduced and it can help the production cost be reduced by the decrease of the process related to this and the increase of the yield rate.
Especially, in case of the In-cell display products, as the touch sensing electrode pattern is realized as the all-in-one inside the display, TDDI chip provides the optimal architecture to this product. Through this, the production of more slim display module is feasible, and there is also a strong point in the aspect of the power consumption since it can embody a 10% brighter screen than the display that the Touch Screen is added previously.
To materialize the product, the touch sensing technology, display driving technology, operation technology of the display-driving synchronization, high speed MIPI Interface technology, noise reduction technology, low-power consumption design technology, and etc. are necessary.

LCD panel drive technology
High voltage driving circuit(Source Driving)
LCD Panel Drive drives the panel by controlling the gate driving circuit and source driving circuit
through the control ASIC. The driving principle of the pixel is that when the turn-on signal is approved
at the line gate, TFT of the pixel in the whole line gets all turned on. At the time, the video signal
which comes in from the column source is approved in each pixel and is saved by the capacitor.
After that, the turn-on signal from the line signal goes next to next line and the TFT of the pixel
gets turned off.
• Liquid Crystal keeps the value until the next frame because the voltage which was saved in
the capacitor during the one frame hour keeps getting approved. Generally, LTPS has the Gate
Driving Circuit embedded in the panel, so the panel is driven through the GPM(Gate Pulse
Modulation)timing signals for the Gate Drive and the Source Driving Circuit.
LTPS panel drive application
In case of the LTPS technology, p-Si TFT LCD can make simpler structures using the SOG technology
which can integrate various circuit functions on the glass array, which enables the operation feasible
with the dozen times smaller line than the existing a-Si, which leads to a minimization of
the components. Due to the minimization of the components, the production of the thin and
light LCD module is possible. Therefore, half height, light weight, and low-consumption of the electricity
are possible with p-Si TFT LCD, so several times higher pixel is supported than the existing a-Si,
which makes the mark of the high resolution. MELFAS developed to further support LTPS with
its own panel drive technology.
Being included in the D-PHY support DSI (Display Serial Interface) module, it is in charge of
transmission of the command and data between the exterior device and other DSI module.
